Coming Soon - Comic Con, 2009, The 40th Edition

Comic-Con

The San Diego International Comic Convention (Comic-Con) is coming to San Diego Thursday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 26th, with the (now) traditional preview night on Wednesday, July 22nd. This one's a little extra special, what with it being the 40th anniversary of the Con. And since FiveSprockets is headquartered in beautiful San Diego, we'd be remiss if we didn't have something to say about it. And we do. In fact, we're going to dedicate our blog over the next two weeks to this year's Con. Oh, and we'll be tweeting from the Con itself from @FiveSprockets.

Our blog coverage kicks off Monday with an introductory piece by Audrey, our resident fan-girl, called, "Why Comic-Con Matters".  After that, we'll be covering topics such as "The Top-10 Things You Didn't Know About Comic-Con", "Guirella Marketing Tactics For Your Project At The Con", "The 3D Screening of Final Destination 4" (with a tie in back to the DVD commentary track of FD2), and a piece on ZOMBIE GIRL and how the Con's film festival track differs vastly from other film festivals.  We also plan to tell you a little bit about some of the parties and events going on in conjunction with the Con.

And then during the festival itself, Aaron Matthew Kaiser (www.antikaiser.com), an award-winning producer and writer (and a Twitter nut), will be twittering from the floor of the festival, musing and informing us on all he sees.  Follow us on Twitter (@FiveSprockets) and look for hashtags #fivesprockets and #sdcc.

We invite you to read and comment with us along the way ... off to what is sure to be a sensational Con!  For more information on the Con, visit their website at http://www.comic-con.org/.
