I think actors really seem to warm to directors who aren't afraid to look bad in front of them. I've been on set with directors who were all ego, and the actors couldn't stand them and the environment was just bad. But I've also been on set with first-time directors who were willing to learn from the actors. A little bit like what this video is talking about, and the working experience was so good for all involved. Very good video.
