Aftermath

The Aftermath is the last segment of the script and the definitive resolution to the protagonist's arduous journey.

Usage

The importance of the Aftermath is that it provides a sense of rebirth and accomplishment in the life of the protagonist. It is important to note that the Aftermath is not always a happy one, some are quite sad. A true Aftermath reveals a change in the protagonist as a result of a difficult trek toward a near-impossible objective. The change could be for the better...or it could be a change for the worst.

The Aftermath will also present the end result of the Subjective Storyline and the Objective Storyline meeting.

Format

The Aftermath is, of course, the end of the screenplay or last 5%. There are several questions you must ask when creating an Aftermath:
Has the protagonist truly learn who he is on an emotional and/or psychological level?
What kind of person has the protagonist become as result of the journey? Is he better or worse?
Although things are back to normal, has the protagonist climbed to a higher tier in his life or has he fallen below sea level?
