The angle of view is the lens’s subtended angle. This means the angle, measured in degrees, from the point of the camera.
Usage
The angle of view describes the dimensions of a scene as imaged by the camera. It means basically the same thing as field of view, but refers to the camera’s field of view instead of a person’s field of view.
Example
A wide angle lens has an obtuse (greater than 90 degrees) angle of view. A telephoto lens, on the other hand, has an acute (less than 90 degrees) angle of view. (Technically a normal or standard lens also has an acute angle, but it defines approximately what we see and perceive in our normal range of view.)
