Continuous Action

 

In screenwriting, Continuous Action refers to an action taken by a character, and continues it from one scene to the next.

Usage

If a scene has not ended by the page break the use of Continuous Action is needed to direct the reader that scene has not ended. Most screenwriting software programs will insert the proper term at the break automatically.

Format

In order to created a Continuous Action, the word CONTINUED must be inserted at the break of the page. The word CONTINUED: is then inserted at the top of the following page. Again, screenwriting software programs will usually have this automatic function.
