In screenwriting, the Final Push is the segment of the script when the protagonist, now "beaten and battered", pushes through increased complications at faster pace towards his ultimate goal. The antagonist is at his strongest at this point as the protagonist musters all the strength he has face him.
toc_collapse=0;The Final Push is really used to measure just how worthy the protagonist is in coming out victorious against a seemingly unbeatable antagonist. The Final Push is also used to hone in on the protagonist's flaws. Can the protagonist overcome his flaws and achieve the goal? He must if he is to be victorious in this most dire time.
The Final Push is also a time when allies and aid really become a value to the protagonist. Aid might be magic, luck or favors.
The Final Push usually shows up at about the 75% mark in the script and runs for the next 20%. In the Two-goal Plot format the Final Push comes right after the Reversal and is the New Plan implemented to trudge forward toward the New Goal. In a Linear Script Format it is the "last ditch effort" for success.
In the Final Push it is important the protagonist use every "weapon" possible to move forward. The exception would be the "secret weapon" the protagonist saves for the Climax.
