Screenwriter
A Screenwriter is one who creates specialized written text to be presented as a directed storyline specifically for the film medium. This "written text" is commonly referred to as a screenplay.

History
It is claimed that Roy L. McCardell is celebrated as the first screenwriter. This claim can be substantiated because he was the first one to be paid for his work. 10 90-second scenarios $15 a pop. It was from that point that the screenwriting industry began....as did their struggle for respect.
In other words, screenwriters are as underappreciated as they are crucial figures in Hollywood. That said, it is important to note that without the screenwriter, actors would be street performers and filmmakers would continue to be waiters, busboys and bartenders.
