I'm working on my first screenplay, and the formatting is driving me crazy. Are there templates that I can use? I used to do typesetting, and the system would take straight copy and just pour it into a format--so easy! There just has to be a better way than all this clicking back and forth....

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Screenwriting Basics guide and our software

Maggie - we suggest you have a read of our short Screenwriting Basics Guide here - http://www.fivesprockets.com/fs-portal/features/main.do?content=screenplay-basics.

Then, once you login to FiveSprockets, go to "Projects", create a new project, and then you can gain access to our script editor.  We think it's pretty intuitive and it will help you properly format your screenplay.  Once you get the hang of the Tab and Enter accelerators, you should be writing super fast in the in the proper format quite quickly.

Let us know if you have any questions or comments!

Screenwriting Basics Guide

Thanks for your reply. I had read that guide, but somehow the details were escaping me. I did as you suggested, and that experience convinced me that I'd work even more efficiently by writing offline and using tabs.

It's working! I have about 1/3 done, plus a beat sheet. When finished, I'll export the script to FiveSprockets.

Thanks again, so very much. I truly appreciate your help and patience.
