Hi,

I transcribed a page of a script into the script editor, saved it, and all seemed fine. I edited the title page, went back to the script and it was gone.

I was using Chrome, so I tried it in Firefox but the script has disappeared.

I'm not feeling very confident now!

Any ideas?

Thanks, Gavin.

We are actively working on this

Hi Gavin,

This is an issue that has started happening recently for a small set of our users and we are actively working on it.  We sincerely apologize and understand how it would erode confidence ... that's why we are working on it so hard.

And actually, the details you've provided are helpful.  Can you give us more as we are trying to reliably reproduce this issue on our end?  Did you --

1. Add one page of a new screenplay script,

2. Go to the title page and edit it,

3. Return to the script and it was gone?

Any additional details you can provide?

Thanks a lot.

Update

We have now been able to reliably recreate the issue, which means we have a very good idea on what's causing it and how to fix it.  We hope to have a fix implemented, tested, and pushed live within about a week.

FYI -- it's caused by a pretty rare occurrence, hence our difficulty in reproducing it.  To make this happen, you have to enter in some data into your script, and then switch script-tabs at the precise moment that our auto-save feature kicks-off.

Tip top, thanks for getting

Tip top, thanks for getting to the bottom of that. Is there a status page or some other way where I can monitor when it has gone live?

Gavin.

We'll update you

We're going to sweep up this fix with a few, more minor fixes and perhaps a couple of minor enhancements.  We'll make a blog post about it and will update any relevant forums, so you should updates throughout the site.  We're hoping to make that push the weekend of June 26th.

In the meantime, we feel confident that you can use our script editor ... err, as long as you don't (a) hit manual save on the script editor; (b) enter in some next text into your script, and then (c) at the split second that you see the "auto-saving script" message switch to a different script tab!

The only thing I can think of

The only thing I can think of is that I noticed that the numbering at the bottom of the screen was "NaN of 2" when I switched back to the script page. I saved the script before I switched away; the script was still clearly visible when I saved. I only saved once, and didn't save again after switching back to the script view.

Gavin.

Page gone!

Today I discovered that one page of my script was missing, eventhough I saved it.

How can this be?
