From our friends at "Hard Scrambled", know when to Kill Your Darlings. In other words, even if you love a scene, if it doesn't work or enhance the story, you may want to cut it.

This is such a critical aspect of filmmaking! I feel so much more intelligent when I'm not spoonfed foreshadows or explanations. I like having the chance to figure out on my own where a director is taking things.

And it's so critical to ask yourself if you should be doing this at every stage, from writing to post. Definitely agree!
